Venetian Film Competition creative director Alberto Barbera is about to launch a lineup of the occasion's upcoming 82nd edition, expected to be full of buzz.
The final 12 months of Venice Silver Lions champion was Brady Corbet's “Brutalist”, who won three Oscars, while Walter Salles' “I Still Here” won “I Here” who won the Best Screenplay in Venice and won the best global feature film.
“La Grazia” is a love story, Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, who re-winned the Oscar as “Nice Magnificent” actor Toni Servillo, as the pageant introduced the opening film in advance and will also participate in the high-prize lion of Fest Fest.
Boosting professional streaming and distributor Mubi may fly its flag and get “La Grazia” at its launch. Mooby boss Efe Cakarel asserted that in the last month, another high-profile title he received was Jim Jarmusch's triptych image “Father and Mom Brothers”, starring Cate Blanchett as Adam Driver, and also took the position of Lido rivals.
The winners of the 12-month Golden Lion Career Achievement are idol German director Werner Herzog, whose labor figures include “Aguire, Wrath of God”, “Fitzcarardo” and Nosferatu, as well as legendary “vertigo” star Kim Novak.
Two-time Academy Award winner Alexander Payne will preside over the jury.
