The “crazy” suspect allegedly informed witnesses that “a dangerous thing happened” – trying to hide in a tree to escape arrest, resulting in a “long standoff for a small time.”
A Minnesota man was in jail after his girlfriend died, which was the authorities who hid in a tree after he led police pursuit and hours of long standoff.
Craig Hameister, 44, is charged with two counts of second-degree homicide, one after the death of his girlfriend Melissa Hunt, 36.

one Prison Complaints,pass Legislation and CrimeHunt sought Hunt's death and Hameister in Kellogg, Minnesota on June 18. Wabasha County Sheriff’s Workplace Representative first alerted the authorities when responding to a residence where Hunt drove after the alleged attack.
“After observing important facial accidents, the homeowner was called 911,” the complaint said. “After arriving at the scene, deputies noticed a significant accident on the woman's face, as well as a lack of teeth and part of her chin.”
According to the documentation, Hunter could initially speak to the live representative and mention that “Craig hit her with a stick.” She began to say his final identification, but “cannot be done” and began spelling it as a substitute. When asked to try to say Hamist, “she nodded,” the authorities mentioned.
She could also allegedly describe his car, where he lives and mentions that the so-called attack occurred when the ship was launched. She was then taken to the hospital, where she died in the accident. According to the medical expert's facial wound, her facial wound “a gun residue embedded in the wound.”
When authorities arrived on board to launch, deputies could not find the weapon or blood, and the documents stated that “it was raining during the search.” Later, they found an unrelated spherical shape of the ammunition at the location.

Hamist's truck was then traced by Chatfield to the outside of the tackle, which authorities found when the door opened, with a 9mm ball on the ground. Witnesses interviewed the truck’s location on the tackle, where Hamister allegedly confirmed “very crazy” and told them “a dangerous thing happened.” One resident claimed she was missing a 9mm pistol, including a Hameister left on the motorcycle.
Hameister, who later was located in the statute enforcement department, allegedly “climbing up a tree to evade arrest.” Following the document named “The Long Confrontation of the Hour” he was arrested. Meanwhile, a 9mm pistol was found at the bottom of the tree.
He was taken to Wabasha County Jail, where he held on a $2 million margin.
