Damien de Froberville has been promoted to president of Sony Photo Animation. He will serve with President Kristine Belson to oversee the animation department’s upcoming “Spider-Man: Spider-Man of the Past,” Stephen Curry’s sports event comedy “Goat” and fantasy musical “Kpop: Demon Hunters.”

“I am pleased to announce that Damien de Froberville has been promoted to join me as President of Sony Photo Animation,” Belson wrote on Tuesday morning. “This new title and building recognizes the numerous responsibilities he has already undertaken and the very important position he has shown in our studio. Since his arrival, Damien and I have been working hard to inform the studio's strategic path and continue to develop its ongoing progress and oversee all the features of improvement and manufacturing throughout the animation section.”

De Froberville hired Vice President of Government for Manufacturing and Working Technology at Sony Photos Animation in 2023. He has previously held roles in Paramount, DreamWorks animation, Netflix and Spain's Sergio Pablos animations and worked on initiatives such as “Madagascar Penguin”, “Practice Dragon 2”, “Kung Fu Panda 3”, and “Trolls” and “Trolls.”

“Damian's extensive experience in animation manufacturing has made him a useful companion,” Belson's memo continued. “With years of management expertise in the world's companies, his promotion should be effective.”

Sony Photos Animation’s launch calendar consists of Spider-Man: Spider-Man of the Past (June 4, 2027), Goat (February 13, 2026), and KPOP: Demon Hunters (June 20, 2025 on Netflix). In the improvement, Sony Photo Animation has two Netflix animation sequences, one of which includes “Ghostbusters” and the other is a “Transylvania Resort transylvania” spin-off called “Motel Transylvania.” There is also a “Ghostbusters” animated movie in the work.
