The 20th Shanghai Global Film Pageant (SIFF) launched its Golden Cup selection, with 49 films competing in 5 classes.
The year's version has set new information, with the competitors receiving more than 2,800 opinions from 119 international locations and regions, marking a clear sales increase in the Americas and Africa entries. Submissions for only one fast movie submission increased by 18% year-on-year.
The main competitors chose 12 titles that span various territories. These include Chile-U.Ok.-French, directed by Miriam Heard, “After the Fog,” Akyrgyzstan’s “Black Crimson Yellow” from Aktan Arym Kubat, and Brazilian “Tornado” directed by Flavia Castro. Chinese cinemas are with “My Father's Son”, “A Weird Summer Time” and “Wang Tong” and “Wang Tong” and “Wang Tong”. This section also has the option of Poland's “Labor Stability” (Korek Bojanowski), Germany's “Luisa” (Julia Roesler), Japan's “Summer Time Sand” (Shinya Tamada), Argentina-Spanish-Spanish “Reborn” (Santiago Esteves), Santiago Esteves, portugal-Brazil of Fernio and Scent and of Scent and. The animation class consists of “Edge of Time”, a Chinese co-produced directed by Lee Wei, Wang Ming, Shinichiro of Watanabe and Shuhei Morita. From “Magic Seaside” in Australia (Robert Connolly) to “Make a Woman” in Japan (Gensho Yasuda), “The Songbirds'Secret” in France-West End-Bergim and China-Us co-produced “Tom and Jerry: Fir-Pross Compss” (Zhang Gang) (Zhang Gang).
Live fast movie competitors have selected 10 entries from around the world. China contributed “The Story of Winter” (Luo Zhaoguang, Zhou Nanjun), “Children of the Land” (Xu Rui), “Crow” (Xu Jianming) and “No one realizes I’m gone” (Bo Hanxiong). Entrances around the world contain Iran's “lifeless water” (Leira Hekmatnia), France's “Joanna is leaving” (Jonathan Millet), Portugal's “Jew or the First Rebel” (Pedro Canero) (Pero Canero) (Pero Canero of Peru), Peru's “World Finish” Mexico's “Video Sports Auteur” (Txema Novelo).
The fast film course in animation is rivaled by 5 titles: Poland and France's “I'm Not Here Again” (nawojka wierzbowska), Belgium's “Mirjam pal” (Xu Zao) (China's “Love Music Pal” (Xu Zao), Russia-Kazakhstan embrace” (iulia turicianu).
Italian director and screenwriter Giuseppe Tornatore, the champion of the Oscar “Movie Paradiso” will host a global jury team. “The film contest is not only a celebration of the film; it is possible for people from completely different countries to return together, replace concepts and recognize unique films,” Tonatol said. “I am honored to be a juror at Siff and to join my jury members in Shanghai to bring fun to these incredible works.”
The release of the year introduced many firsts, as well as the merger of the Siff Film Market with the Shanghai TV Contest Market to type in a unified global film and television market. The festival also launched in Asia, and now partially emphasizes regional perspectives. Guided by the rules of “Asian, Chinese films and new skills”, the competition is expected to involve 60 rounds of Chinese language films, including competitors’ entries, premieres and classic classics.
The competition will be held from June 13 to 22 and will be passed by the Shanghai TV Competition from June 23 to June 27.
