Mexican singer-singer and songwriter Paquita La del Barrio died Monday at her home in Veracruz. She is 77 years old.
Her family confirmed the information on social media early Monday morning, but did not list the causes behind the death. Their assertion learned: “We were deeply in pain and disappointment, and at her home in Veracruz, the wise move of our beloved Paquita la del Barrio was verified.”
They continued: “She is a unique and unparalleled artist who left an eternal mark in the hearts of all who know her and love her music. At the moment of the second soreness, we respectfully ask about public opinion. and the media give us homes and understanding so that her family can mourn peace and privacy. We thank you for your understanding and respect during this difficult time. Peacefully relax, your music and legacy will continue to live in our hearts.”
Paquita was born on April 2, 1947 in Francisca Viveros Barradas, Veracruz. Care for CBS data. Paquita has embraced a part of her story over the years—a fearless and ridiculously leaning towards the feminist themes in songs that avenge her emotions. Songs like “Rata de dos Patas” (“Rat with Two Legs”) and “Tres veces te Engane” (“Three Examples of I Deceived You”) serve as comments on the deeply rooted macho tradition in the Mexican tradition.
She released over 30 albums and received three Grammy nominations (all in the Mexican region or in the Tejano album category). The singer also appeared in the outdoor music “Velo de Novia” of Televisaunivision in 2003 and in 2015 on “Amor de Barrio”.
Paquita has been fighting lately and has begun to use oxygen to provide it. She postponed live performances earlier in the 12 months, but with good considerations in mind, she was scheduled to play a series of reveals as part of El Flaco y El Mimoso's “2 Primos de Cuidado Tour” .
