The velvet rope has risen, the spotlight is hot, Queens is ready to kill. The WERQ The World 2025 Tour is sailing into North America bigger, bolder, and more shocking than ever – with a red carpet twist, the reimagined awards show charm through outrageous, unapologetic lenses.
The core of all this? One and the only Jimbo Resistance Race Hurstri. Share his position with avant-garde idol Sasha Velor, Jimbo guides Joan Rivers’ unfiltered spirit with a jaw-dropping night of performances, imitation and beauty pageantry at Joan Rivers. Stopped in 48 cities, this trip was a dramatic celebration of resistance icons that we liked and cultural moments that made them legendary.
We caught up with Jimbo and talked about the significance of hosting the world’s largest trailer tour, she found herself in a messy glory and why Drag remains one of the most powerful performing art forms today.

I've had interviews before about the Drag Circus tour. What's the difference between touring yourself and then going on a tour like Werq?
Well, I think the Werq in the world – because this is a variety show where you have big ensemble casts – for me, it's definitely not too much weightlifting. On my personal show, I kind of carry the whole show myself. I'm doing every number and using this number I definitely have more time to change between, and there are others who can fill the time and make the show implement. So, for the whole 90 minutes or long-term performance, there is definitely much less expectation from me. I obviously liked both things, but it was definitely easier for me.
You've brought Joan Rivers back to the show, and I think it's great. How did you turn her energy into a performance on the tour?
Well, Joan Rivers is a hosting character and I'm sharing this character with Sasha Velor. She hosted half of the tour. So the custodian will be Joan Rivers as Joan Rivers, a natural part of Joan’s role in the red carpet and QVC. Her character naturally lends this host energy, which is one of my favorite parts of Jimbo’s Drag Migch’s personal show, that character and that part of the show, I’m really going to get out of the script or record, or I’m really just freestyle with the audience. I like that. That's where I use a lot of clowns and a lot of riffs. It's because when you deal with a specific audience that night, it's a little joke, which is really exciting to me.
You are working with many queens on the show. Are you most excited to attend this tour?
Luckily, I've already toured with a bunch of these girls, so it's fun to just hang up and have fun on the road, but many of them are new to me too. Crystal Methyd's sister will have Daya Betty. I toured a lot with Methyd Crystal Methyd, and she is one of my best sisters and one of my best friends. I love her because I want Daya to have the same connection and atmosphere as me. Luxurious, we both love to smoke a little weed so I was so happy to hang out with her and have fun on the road. Jaida and I, we were broadcasting Drag Race live in Las Vegas, so we knew we were a little bit together. She has a crazy sense of humor and I love her energy. Fan Jie. Crazy fun. I'm very happy to be with her. She is like a little Tasmanian devil. She spoke so quickly. What are you even talking about? Then, the guy I've never met and never worked with is Kim Chi. So, I want to say among all of you that I am most excited to work with Kim Chi because I have never met her and I have never worked with her, I have never toured with her, I think she is cool. I follow her, I love her makeup brand, so it would be very cool to know her.
This year's tour focused on awards ceremony. Your favorite awards ceremony culture, how will you join in?
I love the awards ceremony culture because awards ceremony is usually presented to the audience, so you collapse that wall immediately after you start. It's all about including the room in what you're doing, so it's a great way to invite the audience to the show and get into the night. I also love that an event or award shows you your overall energy. It feels like a special night because, besides the performance, but also dragging you down, you have other elements and elevations of the red carpet.
You know, where that kind of award show shows your best self and show off some really amazing red carpet look. I think this is a great opportunity for all of us to be on the highest charm and the most expensive look. I think it is really an exciting level of resistance in terms of audience presentation and an opportunity for others to show with their best looks and grand looks. I know Resistance Race Drag Love fans turn to their looks and embody themselves in their best versions. So this red carpet energy really makes everyone change in an interesting, higher form.

The Werq world will enter 48 cities. What is it like to connect with fans on such a massive night?
Well, the best part about resistance is actually its challenge to the LGBTQ+ community and trans communities and its attacks on our rights and the challenges to progress and people’s rights and freedoms, as well as the challenges to our rights and our rights.
Pride is a protest. Being stuck is a political act, and now more important than ever, is to see in our community, not afraid and strong so that people can see, well, like the Queen of Resistance. They are not afraid. So we can be without fear, we can be ourselves, we can still continue to show up, show and be visible, and in many communities we move forward, there isn’t a lot of queer culture in the beginning. So when we bring performances into these communities, we do provide people with another space to feel themselves and feel themselves, but they want to feel in terms of their freedom, gender, personal expression or their creative expression.
So, you know, when you’re in a big city, our fans and those communities have greater opportunities. But when you enter some of the smaller cities, it really is like a traveling gay circus, we will come in, we bring the atmosphere, we bring all gays, all gays, all queer people, all ally and people who love to drag, they are able to come out and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate and celebrate.
What do you think has dragged this powerful storytelling tool?
I think the root of resistance is about fearlessness. It’s about believing in ourselves and the truth, opposing your environment or against everything you teach, which is inspiring for everyone in all kinds of ways in life, perhaps dealing with situations or scenarios where we don’t completely feel ourselves or we don’t necessarily have to be on our own paths where we want to choose ourselves. So resistance is actually about retraction. It's about taking back your truth.
It's about retrieving the expressions that suit you and your. You know, a lot of times, people and queer people are told that they are too much, or they need to turn it down. And drag is actually celebrating too much, but celebrating it. I think that's what people love about resistance is to see other people conflict with what we teach, which is small, conservative or hiding the people you suit everyone else.
The outstretched nails are tapped and dragged about that outstretched nail. It's about the person who said that I will be myself in front of everything. This is inspiring.

You've achieved a lot with barbecue and obviously you portrayed the roast queen in the show. If you can bake any celebrity at the awards ceremony, who do you want to be and why?
Well, I think the guy who stood out from the top of my head, like we certainly all want to roast Trump. I think what is happening in the world and America because of the absurdity of his self and his absurdity of all other cultures and peoples in the world. I think he will be a good target for baking. I don't know how capable he will take, but I think he's the biggest person to bake right now.
I think we can bake JK Rowling too. I would love to take her into a room with a bunch of queer and trans people and have us all shoot her and make fun of her. We want someone we can get.
Between your international fan base, live shows and your iconic merchandise, your brand is growing Resistance Race. What's next for Jimbo House?
I'm working on some different ideas. I really like working on movies and TV and I love the character work. I've dreamed of my own variety show, Jimbe House, located in my apartment, in my apartment, in some field Theater for urination Scene, you are invited into Minecraft. This is where I went to live show, Jimbo's Drag Circus.
I really want to create a magical environment where people are welcomed. So I want to do that, but within the scope of the movie, whether it's a TV show or a movie of some kind. So yes, I'm working on writing, I'm in the middle of a screenwriter class, so this is where I want to go, is to create and tell stories on a larger level.
Literally, I started home from four months on my trip last night so I didn’t have time to clean up or look around. I have a bunch of mail there and I can't wait to open it. But yes, this is a magical place. I like being at home. It's very special to be here and recharge for a minute and repack it before going on the road. That's why I imagined I would shoot a series. So, the fingers cross, and this happens.
