Audra McDonald was shocked by Patti Lupone's latest interview with The New Yorker, who covered McDonald and revealed that the two obviously fell and were not partners.
“I suggest that if there is a crack between us, I don’t know what it is,” McDonald advised Gayle King on asking CBS Mornings if she was “shocked” by Lupone. “This is one thing you need to ask Patty.”
“I haven't seen her in 11 years because I'm busy with life and stuff,” McDonald's added. “So, I don't know what Rift she is talking about. You need to ask her.”
In a unique interview, Lupone said the McDonald's title was introduced by visitor Michael Schulman. McDonald is Tony’s Tony nominee as he enjoys Rose of Gypsy, a job that received Lupone’s Tony in advance.
The alleged dispute between the two actors was introduced as Lupone reflects on what happened when she was on Broadway in “roommates.” Lupone may hear complaints in her theater in the musical Hell's Kitchen because of the musical Hell's Kitchen. “Hell's Kitchen” Tony winner Kecia Lewis posted a video slamming Lupone's behavior as “bullying” and “racial microaggressive.” Lewis added that Lupone was “rooted in privilege” and was known as Out Lupone, labeled “Black Gift with Loud.” McDonald's agrees with Lewis' video.
“That's right,” Lupeng advised the New Yorker. “I believe, ‘It’s better to know higher.’ This is typical of Audra.
When Schulman then asked Lupone to come up with an idea about McDonald's making “Gypsy”, Lupone stared at him again, “silenced for 15 seconds”, then continued looking out the window and said, “What a wonderful day.”
Lupone and McDonald were manufacturing at the Los Angeles Opera in 2007 and in 2000 the live performance model for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra “Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Avenue” for the Fleet Avenue.
