Spoiler Alert: This interview can accommodate spoilers, “too many”.
Emily Ratajkowski reappeared after making headlines in 2023 for firing workforce and leaving the business. At the time, she lamented her feeling of being “digestible in efficient men in Hollywood”, so her first new challenge would not be created by just one girl, but her good friend Lena Dunham, wasn’t shocked.
“Too much,” Dunham’s new Netflix comedy series followed Jessica (Megan Stalter) within months after breaking up with ex-boyfriend Zev (Michael Zegen). Ratajkowski performs Zev's new girlfriend Wendy, an influential man, and a fixed stream of Instagram pictures from Zev and Wendy's Happy Life, together driving Jessica Looppy. She broke into their New York house drunk and had one night facing them, and Wendy did tell Jessica that she looked loopy and that she was surprisingly calm and benefited during the encounter.
Throughout the collection, Jessica Information Movie has introduced Wendy, who uploaded it to a non-public Instagram account. This is her channel for dealing with her breakup, no matter one day, she accidentally reveals her account and the movie spreads. Soon afterwards, Wendy contacted Jessica and asked for it to be fulfilled. Compared to the debate film, Wendy asked Jessica about the details of the timetable for breaking up with Zev, and overall, it was important for them to understand Zev. They combine the way Zev handles them and wants each other well, and Wendy even offers advice on her current relationship with Felix (Will Sharpe).
ratajkowski talked about choose About enjoying “The Girl on the Opposite”.
You and Lena Dunham have been in office for a long time. What was your initial thought when she informs you about this position?
We have always had a lot of conversations around ladies, like you linked in unusual ways, but you don’t know them completely. And, we've always been intimate as we get older, but once you're younger you won't do that because you're scared, or because it's a protection mechanism.
Apart from this approach, are you also related to Jessica? There are these concepts about different ladies, but will others challenge you well?
I suggest that I have always been Jessica, I have always been Wendy. I believe that for most people, this is true. At first, Lena wrote her to a lawyer, and I once said, “I hope she’s a little bothered.” She’s such a wise, brilliant, brilliant person, like posting something social justice online. I used to think, “I actually need this lady to be an influential person and I don’t think it’s stereotyped because we’re going to know her in a bigger way, but I believe the rewards are actually pretty good.” It’s a weird moment in our residence. For the past 30 years, if your ex has obtained a brand new girlfriend, you may meet her as soon as possible, or just watch the image, but now you can get into their identity regularly. And I believe that since you are just sharing with one person or a person from historic past and are connected, the consequence is that they may actually operate with your mind, but behind them is one. So, I believe the way Lena explores this is actually cool.
Tell me the extra information about the desire to really bother her. Is this the purpose of how Jessica feels?
No, I just appreciate the personal idea of “Oh, after all, influencers.” For those ladies who do a lot of online quite a bit, it’s just a lot of judgment, or play a role in the eye economic system. And I personally don't think it makes her more pleasant, but I might understand why the other person would. Anyone with good intentions likes it, “Let her make her so wise. “I think,” she yes So wise. But that doesn't mean she has to be a lawyer, right? ” He or she is just somehow opposed to Jessica.
Until that ultimate plot, we only see Wendy through Jessica's perspective, who imagines that she and Zev share the perfect life. But it is obvious that Wendy's relationship with Zev has huge problems. How do you view this?
I [thought of Wendy] Being a lady who lives with her roommates and is known to have a relationship earlier than some certain breeds. She was like, “Oh, that's a clumsy guy. He's safe.” This happened to your lady in her 20s and 30s. You'll check out a completely different metaphor because you're like, “Maybe this prototype! Candy Man! Still a nerdy man! They will be completely different! I will be safe from something I am more skilled. “My imaginative Wendy and foresight is that she was like, “He was a pleasant Jewish boy with a good style in music and saw all the problems I like to do.” We can discuss all the cool dogs I need to discuss. He is very comfortable. ”And, after all, it seems that he is not the way he is in any way.
Do you think Wendy imagines Jessica? Zev undoubtedly has been told a story, but she seems to have her own point of view.
I'm sure she's following Jessica [online]. Most likely three ladies checked her life repeatedly. And he or she does have loop expertise in Jess, which clearly verifies a lot of what Zev is most likely to tell her. When she breaks through, I believe she is two thoughts. She was like, “Well, you're the type of loopy, I heard all the loop issues about you. But, in addition, you're just crashing and never dealing with it well.” She was extra kindness, though, throughout the process, though Jesse, would never consider it. [Wendy] Very stupid. There is some respect. I believe every character has it. I've been saying that if a man tells you that all his ex-girlfriends are loops, it's a purple flag.
After Jessica broke into the house at night and later saw Jessica record these solo films about her recordings, why does Wendy still need to meet her? Why did she post this?
With the cheering, all time makes sense. Wendy moved into the house and was told that one of her or his stories was incorrect, but there were indicators – cake rosé, facial cleanser, nothing added up. This can be a very strange feeling when your greatest fear is confirmed. I thought of Wendy for the second time and was like, “Oh, wow. All the problems I used to not want to imagine because I didn’t need to imagine my accomplices being firm for me, and now I can see them. And, it’s as terrible as her relationship, it’s her relationship, and she has a good idea about it, and I do know the reality and this different attitude.
How does it really feel to shoot a party with Jessica? From Jessica's point of view, it has a unique tone for the rest of the season.
I absolutely love it. This is the main scene I've shot for now, this is my first time directed by a girl, my good friend [Dunham]. Meg and I just met and despite a few stories we exchanged, it was contemporary. Feels good. I feel like it better it helps to inform the scene, it's the fact that it's the main day and we're very happy in capturing it. Meg was great in improvisation. She just left for it. So, there are some very humorous experiences, but how gentle some have been, it’s just an honor.
After they finally talked about Zev, why do you think Wendy was reluctant to recommend her new relationship to Jess?
I believe she is reflecting on the second. Wendy is the kind of lady who does a lot of remedies and I think she's like, “Okay, I'm going to keep going. I'm willing to like.” She's in a very smart place that could happen – I'm sure you'll really feel like Zen However Crashed in the breakup. And he or she obviously saw Jesse's movies. Her life expertise is breaking into her own home, so she puts boundaries around friendships, like, “I’m not going to hang out with you regularly, but, if you ask me, that’s how I live in life.”
If you renew “too many”, will you see a world returning to the world of this world? Do you see the future ahead of Wendy and Jessica?
I have no doubt. Lena and I had very little fun with that. I suggest, who knows? But I love her completely. The world is very clear to me. I know [Wendy] Very good – I really feel like I might meet her on the way to Brooklyn. Therefore, it was very pleasant to come back to her.
You've talked about feeling doves in Hollywood and based on your forgery seems to be somewhat more than your substance. It's right here, you can subvert it, and Wendy is portrayed as another hissing lady on the web until we get deeper and see who she is actually. Do you feel like you are working through these hard times in this position in your major?
Lena is the main content of my post revealed by Lenny Lettle, but she knows me from Instagram. I've gone through a lot of experience, especially Lena, which is where she's seen floor issues before and gives me a lot of choices. Once I shoot [“Too Much”]I used to show that I was 33 years old. I'm an adult ass girl with a baby and playing the type of character and dealing with people who share the concepts I've made, which is simply very pure and appropriate. So I'm not actually working, but I feel good.
